Does drinking water after taking medicine make the medicine "less" effective?
i remember as a kid when i needed to take medicine i would always ask for a glass of water. i'd drink half before then half after and most of the time that would tell me it not good to drink water because it "washes" the medicine away and it "won't" work.
Gargling warm salt water(WSW), what does it do?
as a kid, every time i had a sore throat, a toothache or anything dealing with the mouth i was always told to gargle with WSW. i never questioned it i just thought it was one of those filipino self remedies. i had this nasty ass cough which then lead into a sore throat and with no health insurance i go online to find a home treatment to help ease the pain and webmd tells me to gargle with WSW and i swear to ya'll i was like WHOA! i was like how did they know that?! anyways i never looked up why it works because i like to imagine the way works: just like yeast, the warm water "activates" the salt and the salt goes and sticks against the walls of my throat and just like the fabreeze commercials where water balls set on the top of the fabrics and absorb the odor and then disappears. the salt would absorb the germs in my throat and would go down with my saliva.....
